Electrical Equipment – At present there is no obligation imposed by law that states the landlord has to have any form of safety certificate for electrical appliances. However, it is recommended that electrical appliances are checked on a regular basis.
Building Regulations – Regulations were brought in stating that all properties built after and including June 1992 must be fitted with mains operated smoke alarms or detectors on each floor.
